    A Miner Miracle

    A Miner Miracle is a San Francisco-based non-profit organization that provides professional clothing and image counseling to low-income men, women, and young adults seeking employment. The purpose of the program is to help disadvantaged people move into the workplace by educating them to present themselves well and with pride. The program enhances the employment potential and self-esteem of each client as they begin to take control of the direction of their lives. A Miner Miracle addresses the dilemma that disadvantaged women, men, young adults and emancipated youth face as they conclude job training programs — their readiness to work, but their lack of financial resources to purchase suitable clothes and their lack of knowledge about the interview process. The services we provide work from the "inside out" by increasing the client’s self confidence and self-esteem. We also teach presentation skills — skills that are critical for the transition from public assistance to financial independence. Always, our commitment is to the dignity, empowerment, and self-determination of the individuals we serve. This seemingly simple service makes a very real difference in a person's ability to move successfully into the workplace. Since our inception in 1995, we have served over 8,000 clients on their journey to financial independence Please check out our website at www.aminermiracle.org and click on "A Miner Miracle SHOP" at the top. You will be working at our new Women's discount store where there are over 2,000 new brand name fashions from 60-90% below retail. All proceeds go to support our mission of providing image counseling and professional clothing to low-income people seeking employment.
